Project Notes
This extensive renovation transformed a classic Back Bay condominium into a thoughtfully reimagined home that balances historic character with modern livability. The project began with a strategic reconfiguration of the floor plan to improve flow and functionality, including a newly designed kitchen positioned at the front of the home, a more private family room and office tucked toward the rear, and a reworked bedroom layout that allowed for true en-suite accommodations. Supporting spaces such as the laundry room and powder room were also expanded and refined to better serve daily life.
Throughout the residence, original architectural details were honored while finishes and systems were fully updated. All bathrooms were redesigned with custom vanities, refined tilework, and contemporary plumbing fixtures, offering a cohesive sense of calm and understated luxury. Existing hardwood floors were refinished in a lighter stain to enhance brightness and reduce yellowing, helping unify the spaces with a fresh, timeless feel. Lighting, millwork, and material selections were carefully layered to create continuity and visual harmony from room to room.
Interior decoration was an integral part of the transformation, with furnishings, rugs, drapery, wallpaper, and accessories thoughtfully selected to complement the home’s classic bones while introducing warmth, texture, and personality. From expansive public spaces designed for gathering and entertaining to more intimate, flexible rooms tailored for family life, the result is a home that feels elegant yet approachable and seamlessly supports both everyday living and special occasions.
